It’s been a very busy couple of months and I apologize for not getting a report out last month.
January was of course our annual meeting. We had 83 members show up for the meeting, election of officers and directors. And a great steak dinner with all the fixings. Christine Evans after several years as our Secretary has stepped down and Judd Caulfield was voted in and accepted that position so please bare with us during this transition. Thank you Christine for your outstanding job and holding that position for so long. You are a great asset to our club. Gavin Morrissey is remaining on as Treasurer and he has brought us into the 21st century with electronics and “auto” everything. John Dow, and Mike Pratt were re-elected back to the board for a second term and welcoming Alan Page back. New to the board is Mark Alexander and Ian Ford congrats to you all.
As you have heard, we are trying something different with the dinners. The first Thursday of the month will be a regular sit down dinner like we are all accustomed to but the following dinner night will be on a Friday and we are calling it “Pub Night”. The kitchen will be open from 4 to 7 and will be cooking Pub food to order. Hamburgers ,hot dogs, cheese steak subs, chicken wings just to name a few things. The service window on the bar side will be open for food orders and tables will be set up in that room by the big TV. So you can come and go as you please and eat what and whenever you want during the open hours. This is still a work in progress but the first one we had in January went over very good.
The well is complete, 400′ and 17 Gallons per minute more water than we will ever need. Waiting on a couple of more tests from the lab and we will be good to swap all the plumbing over. We now have the ability to text message through our Robo-Call Carrier. I strongly suggest you opt into this option by texting the word “Alert” to 22300 and then please let me know that you opted to do this so I can add you to the list. In the near future there will be text for dinner duty and other happenings around the club. Also Robo calls will be more active so please make sure your phone numbers are current in order to get text and or calls.
We have started doing extensive renovations to the indoor shooting range. In order for this huge capital project to move forward we have to remove all the lockers so a new ventilation system can be installed. That being said, ALL lockers must be cleaned out and emptied by February 15th. All the lockers are being removed on Saturday February 16th. What isn’t removed from the lockers by the 15th will be removed on the demo and put in the dumpster.
We have a great Committee that has been working very hard to get this project going and keep it going forward. It is going to be costly and time consuming and there will be more to follow as we go forward with the project. We will be looking for volunteers to help with demo and clean-up on Saturday February 16th. I am looking forward to another promising year serving as President of Musketaquid Sportsmen’s Club and working with the new BOD and of coarse you the members.
Lets keep making our club GREAT
Hope to see you at the club
